On Wednesday Naomi and her husband Will greeted their second cousin for the first time.


Ethan's parents also came down Wednesday and greeted Eli for the first time. Grandma bonds with Eli.

And Grandpa helps put Eli to sleep at the end of the day.

On Tuesday Eli got his first bath.

A trip to the doctor

On his first full day at home, Grandma and Grandpa help strap Eli in for his ride to the pediatrician.

They will be his doctor till he turns 21. That is the year 2030 for people keeping track at home.

Other than needing to gain some weight, Eli is healthy. He didn't however appreciate hanging around the office in his underwear.

Coming home

After a long but great week with the incredible staff at UNC, Eli headed home Friday.

Dad's driving promptly put Eli to sleep.

Kim enjoys a morning coffee (decaf) with Eli.

Eli is starting to open his eyes more and explore the world around him.

But there is still plenty of nap time.

Hello Grandpa and Grandma

On Wednesday, Kim's parents greeted Eli for the first time. Grandma and Eli immediately bonded.

As did Grandpa and Eli.

Visits

Eli had his first visitors Tuesday. Marc and Tiff came out and gave Eli some love.

Corey said hello as Eli said hello back.

Eli Jacob Hyman

At 11 hours old.

Welcome Eli

After around 24 hours of labor, Eli Jacob Hyman was born at 12:28 a.m. July 20th. He weighs in at 8 lbs., 13 oz. and is 20 inches tall. It took an emergency C-section to get him out. At around 3:30 a.m., Kim gets to hold Eli for the first time.

One last piece of work

Kim sends a quick email telling work she won't be in on Monday.

Away we go

Kim shows off her belly before going to see Away We Go Saturday July 18th. The movie, about a couple having their first child, prompted Little E to say I have had enough of being inside. Two hours after the movie was over, Kim went into labor.
Our friend Taryn took this photo at the State Farmer's Market on July 5th. It proves Kim's belly is bigger than a watermelon.

Gabby's dog finds a good place to hang out during their visit in June.
